Alleged "Craigslist Killer" A Member Of College Republicans

Philip Markoff, the medical student accused of killing a masseuse he met on Craigslist, was "a member of the College Republicans" at SUNY Albany, where he attended classes, according to a CBS report:

Friends and acquaintances talking to CBS News have variously described Markoff as "likable," "preppy," politically conservative and "fun to be around."

He grew up in Syracuse, N.Y., and attended SUNY Albany as an undergraduate (Class of 2007).

A member of the College Republicans, he joined a business fraternity there.

I understand he also liked bacon with his eggs for breakfast. The scandal!!!!!!
Are we really going to go down the political association road here? It is a well known fact that the OVERWHELMING majority of prision inmates are democrats.

In response to the previous poster, all I was doing was passing along a fact. Nothing more, nothing less.

You know, a FACT, unlike your idiotic assertion that the "overwhelming majority of prision inmates are Democrats."

Where do you get that? Oh, that's right: from Rush Limbaugh, who spoonfeeds you Wingnuts all your news and views.

I'm not sure which way most prisoners lean politically (I was unaware that Gallup did polls in prisons).

But I will say this: as a former journalist, I've interviewed a number of prison inmates over the years. Many of them wore swastika tattoos and sported shaved heads and made comments like "all the n*ggers, Jews and Spics should be killed."

I get the feeling that they weren't Liberal Democrats.

Like I said, all I was doing was passing along a fact. It's a fact that was, of course, completely buried and all-but-ignored in coverage of this case.

Hmmm, I get the feeling that if the suspect had been an active Democrat, that Rush and Drudge would be screaming this from the highest rooftops.

Most prison inmates weren't registered voters at the time of their incarceration, IIRC...
